About Ilum-a-lite


Established in 1996, Ilum-a-Lite designs, manufactures and distributes a range of energy efficient products and services, which save money and reduce the impact of electricity generation on the environment.


Ilum-a-Lite customers are saving tens of thousands of dollars per annum in reduced energy bills, and recouping the cost of their investments in as little as 12 to 18 months.

The company’s products, which provide energy savings from 10 to 40 per cent, include:


Save-It-Easy - a small adaptor that is placed on the end of an energy efficient T5 fluorescent tube, enabling it to be instantly fitted into an existing standard T8 fitting


Light Eco Plus – compact, cost-effective devices which cut the amount of electricity used in fluorescent lighting circuits, saving power and money


Light Eco Zone – a lighting controller to ensure lights are "off” after hours when no longer required.  Highly featured, simple to use and very cost effective.


Motor eControl – a range of energy saving controls for constant speed AC induction motors.

Specular Reflectors - a unique, lightweight polycarbonate reflector of 85% relectivity and patented fitting design.  Takes seconds to fit and no work on the luminaire.

Save-it-Easy, which is the only patented product of its type on the market in Australia and New Zealand, has been installed in offices, factories and educational facilities including NSW State Government Departmental and Ministerial offices, Sydney City Council’s Town Hall House office block, Victoria University campuses, Arnott’s Huntingwood manufacturing plant and the ABC’s Ultimo studios.

Light Eco and Light Eco Plus have been installed in 70,000 locations worldwide including several high profile Australian sites such as the Sydney Opera House, Royal Perth Hospital and Brisbane International Airport. International installations include Beijing Airport in China, McDonald’s restaurants throughout the United Kingdom, Ritz Tower in the Philippines, and a Stockholm Metro in Sweden.


Ilum-a-Lite has Joint Venture and distribution partners in Asia, Europe and Africa and was recently named an Austrade Export Champion.  The company was a Finalist in the 2008 Telstra Business Awards in both the Social Responsibility and Micro-Business categories and more recently was runner up in the NSW Export Awards 2009


Ilum-a-Lite is an accredited participant in the NSW Greenhouse Gas Abatement Scheme, a member of the Lighting Council of Australia and a founding member of the Federal Government’s Greenhouse Challenge Plus initiative.

Based in Baulkham Hills in north-western Sydney, Ilum-a-Lite makes a practical contribution to the environment by funding tree planting programs on behalf of its customers when each new contract is completed.
